That was March 2020 and I started experiencing cough
The Government told me that this is just more than enough
I must take all the measures before it’s not getting too late
Oh my god, I’ve been told I must self-isolate
R: It seems for a fortnight I’d gonna be staying alone (or more!)
Those quarantine rules are looking incredibly strong (yes, it’s so)
I opened my fridge and I lost even shadow of a smile
There was no food, and I’m having no chance to stockpile
That’s a chance to get slim and I headed to my fitness club
But I found it is closed, such closed as the nearest pub
No willing for chatting, no willing for reading the news
I stared at my laptop and sang this one work from home blues
Away of the sunlight, I’m feeling myself like a dwarf
Sometimes I miss my lunch box and I miss crowdy Canary Wharf
Forlorn in the wardrobe there’s hanged my poor business suit
I join a meeting by Skype and immediately gonna mute
R: No more concerts, museums and trips and this makes me upset
But I don’t squander my money and I’ve even repaid my old debt
Don’t you call me for hanging around and to drink from your jar
I want nothing but staying at home and to play my guitar
And this staying at home is not as bad as I previously thought (not to kill myself with a knife)
I have finally time for these books that I constantly bought (just throughout my life)
Check my contacts and those erstwhile friends I can manage to ping
And there will be some time for me for this blues to sing
There will be shopping online between gigs and concerts on YouTube
There will be parties in Skype and lotta journeys with Google Street View
A world suspended in anticipation of the end of the infection
Which knows no other disaster as bad as a broken connection
R: And you probably already thought about this, if you’re clever
That this state it might last very long, even forever
From now on there’s no other such thing that so bright to inspire us
Like all the references to the world, we had before the virus
